wish list

Buying a house is a lot like getting married: you're making a massive commitment to remain in a certain state for what feels, at the time, like forever.

Like a marriage, a new house also comes with new requirements for a whole bunch of new stuff. Here is my wish list, mainly for me to get organized over the coming months. But who knows -- maybe I'll decide to register somewhere. Love is in the air!

Cat door
step ladder
back door outside mat
front doormat
magnetic paint
no-kink garden hose
fridge and stove
front-loading energy-efficient washing machine (PG&E rebate $200)
stackable gas dryer (any color)
secure mailbox
Home wiring book
plastic mat for under a desk chair
address labels for new house
outdoor broom and large dustpan
large wrench to turn off gas line in case of earthquake
those little plastic guards to keep water from splashing out of the shower-over-tub
new washers for faucet on pedestal sink
new carpet for front stairs (any color)
tools
place to rent/borrow power tools
circuit breaker panel
potting soil
movers
grout for kitchen sink
automatic garage door opener
insulating blanket for hot water heater
*or* solar hot water heater
8 gallons Kelly Moore paint. Colors: Snippet of Blue (3 gallons latex flat); DIamond white (1g semigloss); Provincial garden (semigloss for bathroom; 1 g); Liquid light (2g; flat); 1g red of some sort

I'm sure the list will get longer...
Next step on home-buying train: debt!
Love to all,
Judy
